Join us for the opening weekend of our book festival, hosted against a historic background with book stalls, guest speakers, and much more. Open from 11am until 4pm.

About the event

📚 Macclesfield Book Festival - 2025 📚


Book worms and lovers of literacy, join us at Christ Church Macclesfield every weekend of February for our inaugural Book Festival. We'll have our popular book stalls open for browsing and buying, as well as being joined by some excellent local book shops, guest speakers, musicians, and artisan craft & gift stalls. Refreshments will also be available.



Festival dates

All events will run from 11am until 4pm.


  • Saturday 1st February & Sunday 2nd February

  • Saturday 8th February & Sunday 9th February

  • Saturday 15th February & Sunday 16th February

  • Saturday 22nd February & Sunday 23rd February



What to expect

Below are details for what you can look forward to on Sunday 2nd February.


  • A selection of book, artisan craft and gift stalls

  • Hot/cold drinks and light refreshments



Talks & Performances

  • 1pm - 2pm - David Slater - playing folk music on guitar

  • 2pm - 3pm - Deborah Edgeley & Mark Sheeky - performance poets

  • 3pm - 3:45pm - David Tolliday - a talk and slide show about Charles Tunnicliffe

Some wonderful authors, poets, and historians will be joining us with copies of their works for sale.
